Memorial Poetry for Melissa
![]() One special day, God created a beautiful soul and wrapped it lovingly in the body of a golden star. On March 15, 1985, this brilliantly shining star descended from the Heavens and graced the earth with all it's wonder. In all God's splendor, this beautiful soul, named Melissa, touched the hearts and souls of every person she encountered. Meanwhile, up in Heaven, a band of angels worked diligently creating a set of beautiful ivory silk wings and a halo and dancing shoes made of the purist gold. Once the angels had completed their mission and the time was as God pre-determined in the Book of Life, God reached out his loving arms and embraced the beautiful soul that many had come to love so deeply. Wrapped in God's warm embrace, Melissa ascended into Heaven to take her place as God's precious dancing angel. With her radiating smile, unconditional love and beautiful grace, Melissa inspired the other angels daily, while continuing to sprinkle her love on those she left behind. Sondra "Sam" Andersen "MOME'" *********************************************************** In loving memory of Melissa Andersen - better known as "Missy" Hands I look at my hands that are wrinkled from age and years of use. I remember Missy's hands as she, with grace, held the violin and her gentle hands made the music of the master's, her gentle hands would, with ease, touch the keys on her flute, and sweet sounds drifted in the air and filled all of our hearts with pride. Her hands played with her younger cousins whether playing catch or having a tea party. Her cousins nickname for her was Little Casper, as her mother is known as Big Casper. Her mind and hands held great hope for the future. Maybe these hands would have designed a great building or guided the minds of children in learning. Maybe these hands would have been trained to be a skillful surgeon and save the lives of many. These hands often folded in prayer, as she asked the Lord's guidance for her life. Today, the music of these hands lays silent, if but for a while, they are silenced. If possible, Missy would lift those gifted hands to say "Good-bye" to each and every one of us, if only for a while. So with love I say "Good-bye" sweet Missy, if only for a while, and rest in God's love and peace. Written by Shirley L.
